Empowering Women, Ensuring Justice
The National Commission for Women (NCW) is a statutory body established by the Government of India in 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990. The commission is dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights and interests of women across the country. It works towards ensuring gender equality, addressing grievances related to women's rights, reviewing legal safeguards, and recommending policy measures for women's empowerment.
Headquartered in New Delhi, NCW investigates complaints related to discrimination, harassment, domestic violence, workplace issues, cybercrime against women, and other matters affecting women's welfare. The commission also conducts legal awareness programs, research studies, workshops, consultations, and advocacy initiatives to strengthen the social, economic, and legal status of women in India.
NCW offers a professional and socially impactful work environment for individuals interested in law, public policy, social welfare, women's rights, administration, research, counseling, and governance.
