DRDO Defence Laboratory Recruitment 2026 Notification Released for RA & JRF Fellowships

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), through its Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur, has released the official DRDO Recruitment 2026 Notification inviting eligible Indian Nationals for Walk-in Interviews for the award of Research Associate (RA) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions.

The recruitment is being conducted for 10 fellowship positions in the disciplines of Physics/Materials, Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, and Mechanical Engineering. Selected candidates will work on advanced defence research projects at the Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur.

Research Associates will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹67,000 + HRA, while Junior Research Fellows will receive ₹37,000 + HRA, along with medical facilities as per DRDO rules.

The walk-in interviews are scheduled for 22 July 2026 and 23 July 2026 at the Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Educational Qualification

Research Associate (Physics/Materials)

• Ph.D. in Physics/Materials or equivalent

OR

• M.Sc. in Physics/Materials with 3 years of research/teaching/design & development experience and at least one SCI journal publication.

Research Associate (Electronics)

• Ph.D. in Electronics or equivalent

OR

• M.E./M.Tech. in Electronics with 3 years of research/teaching/design & development experience and at least one SCI journal publication.

Junior Research Fellow (Chemistry)

• M.Sc. in Chemistry with First Division
• Valid NET/GATE/JEST qualification.

Junior Research Fellow (Physics)

• M.Sc. in Physics with First Division
• Valid NET/GATE/JEST qualification.

Junior Research Fellow (Mechanical)

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with First Division and NET/GATE

OR

• M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with First Division.

Age Limit

Research Associate (RA)

• Maximum Age: 35 Years

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Maximum Age: 28 Years

Age relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 Years
• OBC: 3 Years
• As per Government of India rules.

Fellowship Details

Research Associate (RA)

Fellowship Duration: 02 Years (extendable as per DRDO rules).
