The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) is an autonomous research organization under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. Established in 1993, NIOT focuses on the development of reliable ocean technologies for sustainable utilization of ocean resources. The institute conducts advanced research in ocean engineering, deep-sea mining, marine instrumentation, coastal protection, renewable ocean energy, and underwater robotics to support scientific and technological progress in the marine sector.
