The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the National Regulatory Authority for pharmaceuticals and medical devices in India, functioning under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. CDSCO is responsible for the approval of new drugs, regulation of clinical trials, licensing of specific categories of drugs and medical devices, ensuring drug quality standards, and coordinating with State Drug Control Organizations to safeguard public health.
