The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) is a department under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. It is responsible for formulating and implementing policies and programs for the development of livestock, dairy, poultry, and animal husbandry sectors. The department promotes animal health, veterinary services, disease control, dairy development, genetic improvement, livestock welfare, and sustainable rural livelihoods to enhance farmers' income and strengthen India's livestock economy.
