The North Eastern Council Secretariat (NEC) is the regional planning and development body for the North Eastern Region of India. It functions under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), Government of India. NEC is responsible for coordinating economic and social development, infrastructure projects, regional connectivity, capacity building, and sustainable growth initiatives across the eight Northeastern states.
