Vacancy Details

• Total Vacancies: 4,500
• Lower Primary Teachers: 2,900
• Upper Primary Teachers: 1,600 (Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers)
• Separate merit lists will be published for each district and category.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Must have passed Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
• Selected language (Language 1 or Language 2) in CTET or ATET must match the medium of instruction at the chosen school.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years (as of January 1, 2025)
• Age relaxation is available for reserved categories.
• Candidates with more than two living children born on or after January 1, 2021, are ineligible.

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit, considering:

• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) examination scores
• Graduation marks
• Diploma in Education
• Performance in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)
